I was delighted to be elected as a Sandwich Town Councillor is May 2019. Whilst I am new to the council itself I have lived locally for 15 years, the last five in Sandwich itself. Sandwich is a truly unique place to live and I am keen to do my part to preserve its heritage, culture and unique character whilst looking forward to ensuring the Town has a bright future.
I live with my wife, who works at a school in Sandwich, and my son. I have worked for the past 20 years in management roles with a local family run company. I have gathered significant financial experience and are responsible for some 400 employees in the hospitality and tourism sector. I very much hope that I can bring the skills I have developed to bear for the benefit of Sandwich.
I am committed to the regeneration of the town supporting “A New Vision for Sandwich”, ensuring the town remains the jewel in the crown for its for residents, businesses and visitors alike. Heritage and tradition are also important to me, working for a company that’s heritage dates back over 450 years but still thrives today, gives me an understanding of the synthesis required to preserve tradition and values whilst ensuring we continue to be relevant in the modern environment. I will develop a greater understanding of the town’s many precious assets and work to ensure they are safeguarded and maintained in a sustainable way for future generations to enjoy. I am keen to develop my understanding of the many cultural and community groups and work with them for the benefit of Sandwich. That’s who I am and what I strive to do over the coming years in the position entrusted to me.
