Although I have only lived in Sandwich for three and a half years, I have been visiting for a long time as I have many family members in the area. As well as sitting on the general council I also sit on the Monk’s Wall nature reserve committee, am a trustee of the Port and Haven Commission and am the council representative for the Sandwich Dementia Action Alliance committee.
Before coming to live in Sandwich, I lived in London and Thanet and most recently abroad for twenty three years in Turkey and Northern Cyprus. When working, I was a primary school teacher and taught in an infant school in London and two international schools in Istanbul. Before, and whilst studying to become a teacher, I also worked as a cleaner in a psychiatric hospital, a barmaid, a clerk and a shop assistant.
I was proud to be elected as a councillor for South Sandwich in May 2019. I love living here and am keen to help the local community and to make Sandwich a better place to live for all residents. If you have any questions, ideas or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.
