Councillor Bio

I moved to Sandwich in 2001 with my husband and daughters and worked as an accountant with Pfizers and Christchurch University before transferring to a career in teaching and tuition of local pupils in both Mathematics and Asian languages.

I worked on the finances to support the set up of the original Phoenix Youth Hub with Phil and Eleanor Scott. I was Treasurer for Sandwich Christmas Lights for 12 years and have supported Sandwich Festival and St Clements church events along with the early towns medieval festivals. I have supported Wayfarers and Age Concern and Save The Children charity, currently acting as a support helper to several elderly residents in Sandwich. I have volunteered at Sir Roger Manwood's and Sandwich Technology school with pupil tuition in Maths and Mandarin. I am a strong supporter of services for the elderly, young people and maintaining our green spaces. I am hoping to use my extensive accounts and financial skills for Sandwich Town Council and the Finance Committee. I chose to be an independent candidate so I can work for the local community and do what they require. I am pleased to be the first ethnic minority councillor and hope to support equality and fairness whilst I am in office at STC.
