I am delighted to be elected as a new independent councillor and would like to thank everyone who voted for me. I will do my best to represent all residents, organisations and business – please do not hesitate in contacting me.
My particular focus will be to help bring clear thinking that leads to transparent decision making which is evidence based and properly communicated.
I have agreed to work on the Finance and General Purpose Committee and a number of Working Groups including Maddox Legacy, Courtyard and Standing Orders as well as to represent Sandwich Town Council on the Public Rights of Way and the Delf Stream outside bodies.
As a Commercial Manager on engineering programmes and projects in the pharmaceutical, nuclear and infrastructure sectors, my work experience has centred on project governance, budgeting, risk management, scheduling, procurement, commercial management of service providers and contractors, project delivery and start-up. One of the key lessons I have learned is that collaborative teamworking substantially increases the chances of achieving successful outcomes.
I am the District Secretary for a national charity, Saint Vincent de Paul (for which I have an Enhanced Certificate from the Disclosure & Barring Services for working with vulnerable children and adults), I am a member of Speedwatch, groundsman for St Andrew’s Church and supporter of the Milk Alley garden.
